Quick Update

Ultimate Bet has been down since last night as they go through a planned software upgrade. Hopefully they will be back online tonight. It's unclear if there will be a 9pm $200 on UB. We'll see.

I've had some good results this week: a cash in a $30 MTT, a final table in a $30 MTT, and a cash in the pretty big PokerStars $150 last night. I don't play at PokerStars much but figured I'd branch out a bit.

Things were not in the cards at UB last night. In the $100, I built a bit of a stack then lost with a set to a bigger set. Only a scary board with straight possibilities saved me. I built back up a bit again but lost when my AK hit an ace on the flop but lost to trip Jacks. I've said it before: UB is the set and trips capital of the poker world. You just gotta hope you get them (and they are bigger than the set the guy has next to you!).

I was going deep in the Party Super that had over 1100 people in it when I got AA with maybe 400 to go. I raised it up but got two callers. Got it all in after a King high flop and one guy calls then the huge stack at the table called (I had PLENTY of chips, over 8000). First guy flips AK. Big stack flips J10 with a pair of Jacks. He hits his ten and I'm out. I go back and forth on how to play AA. Wish I had gone all-in pre-flop on this one. I would have picked up the AK money.
