Sheets' Voice in My Head
Recently Sheets sponsored a "Protege" tournament on PokerStars and as part of the prize he offered to make a video of the final table. After it was over, he gathered the final table hand histories (he got all but one), we combined them so that all of the hole cards were revealed and ran it in the PokerXFactor Hand Viewer. He then ran it and added narration.
I then was sent three separate video files and edited them together. There was a bit of an audio problem in some spots so I ended up spending some time on that -- listening to it over and over. The final video is 1 hour and 40 minutes long. Sheets' commentary is excellent (that's not a strong enough word really). Who knew you were suppose to be putting so much thought into each hand?! ;-)
But here's the problem: now when I play I have Sheets' voice stuck in my head. I imagine how Sheets would comment on my play if he were to add narration to it later. Fearful of a "well mindwise probably should have raised there" ... I find myself playing more aggressively. If I start winning more, then I guess the voice can stay. Otherwise, help!
I've cut together a 5 minute version of the video, just picking a few hands early in the tournament. I did so because Sheets and JohnnyBax have offered to make a similar final table video for a charity tournament, if the tournament gets enough participants. So the edited version is a sample of what you can expect. The tournament is next Monday, Feb. 13th at 8:30pm on PokerStars. I encourage you all to play! Learn more about it here and here.

Oh wait -- the Sheets' voice in my head is talking.
"What's that Sheets?"
Sheets wants me to lay down QQ with a straight on the board after a re-raise.
"Are you sure Mr. Sheets? Well, I don't think so but okay."
Ohhhh. Nice laydown Mindwise.
"Sheets, I think this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship."

I really love what you do with these videos, not just this Sheets video, but your videos as well.
You don't have to tell me if you don't want to, but I'm very interested in how you made videos like the videos you made when you were playing the UB tourneys - they're really slick.
All these tools you have (poker x factor, the interactive videos) are fantastic; keep up the good work!
I caught a bit of your tournament on UB last night (The Winter Games). Nice work on your 4th place finish!
