Who's Who?

Who is usplash, our current Extreme Tilt UB $100+ leader? He's had four impressive results so far this month, including two 1sts, one 2nd, and a nice cash in the $200 last night. I see no record of him playing last year. I suspect it's a pro who changed his name to "start the new year." DoubleLucky openingly talked about changing names on PocketFives. hmmmmm. DoubleLucky was noticeably absent from last night's $200, where usplash finished an impressive 16th.

I just started collecting hand histories on usplash, so I don't have enough to do a real accurate comparision. But I can say that usplash and doublelucky have very similar statistics and only ONE stat is way off and that stat might change once more hand histories are gathered. I will not say which stat, but the search begins. ;-)

Kind of a frustrating weekend for me, at least in touraments. I went deep in a couple of tournaments but couldn't break through ... never really having chips to play with. Then in the $200 last night I was doing okay in the second hour when I finally got a hand, QQ, in the blind. One player raised, I reraised, he called. Flop was all low rags. I check because I was sure he would bet out. He bets big and I do a quick gut check. Could he have KK or AA? I had lost in the Noon $100 when my QQ lost to KK. In that tournament, in a hand that played out just like this, I actually thought I was beat, ignored that feeling, and lost. So I'm trying to force myself to listen to myself. (Why do we ignore our gut feelings?).

In this case, based on his previous play, I thought he had JJ, AK, and even AQ or 10, 10. I was sure of it. I went all-in. There was plenty of fold equity here (don't have the exact numbers). He calls in a snap and flips JJ. I'm way ahead with two cards to come. But a Jack spikes on the turn and I'm out. Oh well.

I did win a $50 SNG and came in 3rd in a $50 SNG, so that paid for some things. ;-)

Next Sunday is the big Stone Cold Nuts tournament on UB, where first prize is over $200,000 and the top 10 all win seats into the World Series of Poker. Should be fun! Good luck this week!
