An Unsatisfactory Night

I had one of those bothersome nights yesterday. I played in the UB $100 7:40pm and the $40 8pm and was chip leader in both at one point. In the $40, I got AA under the gun when blinds were still 5/10. As I sometimes do, I simply went all-in. (I didn't feel like being outdrawn by someone who calls a 140 bet with 88 then hits the 8 and I'm out.) But the all-in is kind of silly because it normally picks up just 15 chips.

Bada Bink, two people call! And miracle of miracles, the aces hold up against KK and 99 (99?). Things are going well on both boards ... cool.

Then I get KK in the $100 (or was it QQ?). I raise, I thought, pretty big in late position but get two callers, including one o clock in the big blind. Flop is 788 with two clubs. I bet out big and he calls. Turn is a 10 non-club. I bet big, he goes all-in, and now I feel pot committed and call. He flips J9 of clubs for a straight and I'm a big stack no longer. Good players ... hate 'em.

I hung in but got pushed down. Eventually I went out with my QQ ran into AA and 88 ... the eights hit a set and that was it.

I did cash in the 8pm tournament.

Concerning our Extreme Tilt Leader Board leader -- usplash -- he can't be doublelucky because DL was in the Bahamas playing in the WPT event. I received word from a bud who said usplash was just a kid on a hot streak. Young players ... hate 'em.
