2006: A Look Ahead
No crystal ball here but I suspect we'll see a slow down in poker on TV in 2006 (how could it keep growing?) and as a result a bit of a slow down in the explosion of new players. I also suspect online players will continue to get better but there will be enough donkeys for everyone. ;-)
I think Phil Ivey will win another WSOP bracelet, as will Phil Hellmuth. Daniel Negreanu will recover a bit in 2006 but his business interests will remain his key focus. I predict that several players in the top 50 of the 2005 ExtremeTilt Leader Board will make final tables in the big WPT and WSOP events!
For myself, I want to continue to have FUN playing poker in 2006, to improve, and to play in one major live event (Aruba, WSOP, or Foxwoods WPT).
Mostly, I expect to be working on PokerXFactor.com in 2006. I cannot tell you how exciting this is for me. I want to make it the "next generation" poker training website. As of today, I am just one key step away from going a long way toward accomplishing that goal. Wish I could say more, but if this one thing happens, you'll know what I mean when it is announced.
Extremetilt.com will continue, as will the UB $100+ Leader Board. At one time I explored making it a leader board for all the big sites, which would take much more time, but I'm going to stay focused on PXF. When UB was having its troubles, I started playing on other sites, but UB has rebounded and they have plenty of excellent tournaments for me now that I'm cutting back. So, ExtremeTilt's leader board will stay focused on my home court, UB.
Happy New Year and Good Luck in 2006!
