Leggggy Strikes Back!
Just when it looked like Double Lucky was moving ahead for good in the Extreme Tilt Player of the Year race, leggggggggggy smashed a field of 221 players to win the UB $100 $18000 Guaranteed last night for a big 47 point burst. Leggggy is just 27 points back now.
Yesterday I cashed in a $30 tournament but bubbled the final table going out 11th. I was in 7th or 8th place when I picked up AQ in the small blind with an aggressive big stack in the big blind. The big stack had been reraising from the big blind often so I thought I'd make a play on him and just limp in. He just checked -- I had planned to reraise him all-in if he raised me. I wanted to go to the final table with enough chips to win. But then the flop was great: Q x x. Cool. I bet, he raises, I go all-in, he insta calls and flips Q8! He has just three outs with two cards to come but the 8 hits on the turn and I'm out. I was very happy with the way I played this. I could have done my normal play and raise 3.5 times the blinds and maybe I just pick up the blinds there, but my plan DID work and then I got unlucky.
Still, with all that said, I feel like my game has been stale. I'm not doing well in the bigger tournaments (sure I'm going a couple of hours into them but I'm never in the running). I'm going to cut back further on my play. No satellites and SNGs, no smaller MTTs. I'm just gonna play some tecs and the $100s and the $200. That's actually a LOT less playing for me. Maybe that will freshen up my game.
We've just started on one more big improvement in the PokerXFactor Hand Viewer -- a card calculator that will show the winning percentages when there is a show down. We're still not sure if we can do it, but it would be a cool addition.
Come on guys -- post your hands! And don't forget to use the "Post this Hand Elsewhere" link to post the hands at other websites or your own blog.

Hey Mind-
One thing that has worked for me a few times when I get into a tourney rut is to switch to cash games for a few days or not play at all. After grinding it out on the ring games a few days (yuck!) the fire and focus is back for the tournies.
Your mileage may vary...

Whats up folks? i am going to play in my first rebut tourney tonight and i was wondering if anyone had any advice to give me for the best strategy in a rebuy tourney. Thanks

Pot, in a $3 rebuy satellite, I play pretty much anything and call many raises with anything, but not all-ins.
In a $30 rebuy, I try to play anything coordinated and will call reasonable raises preflop and am willing to chase in many situations. By anything coordinated, I'm talking about connectors (not just suited connectors). 86 off is fine to call blinds and small raises with.
I've had very little $30 rebuy experience but so far (on dise and UB) I've ended the rebuy hour typically in the top 20% or higher.
thanks mind. i appreciate it
